The Gloucestershire Way

Stage 6: Cold Aston to Shipton Oliffe

Lesley, Margaret W., Richard, David H., and Terry met on a damp very misty morning leaving Cold Aston at approx 9.40 am on Wednesday Wednesday 28 January 2009. The route was easy walking with firm tarmac or lanes making up a good percentage . The apparent affluence of areas of the Cotswolds shone through when passing Notgrove and Salperton. A visit to the Church at Salperton was a worthwhile detour, colour was showing in the form of areas of snow drops and some aconites. A short time was spent at the local war memorial with reference to the Crusades engraved on it. Continuing on towards Shipton Oliffe passing Hampen Manor, still misty, good time was made reaching the Frog Mill at 1.15 pm. We then travelled down to The Royal Oak in Andoversford for lunch.
